EMO Delegation meets Jo Leinen: On October 8th 2009, a delegation of EMO representatives had a first meeting with the new chairman of the Environmental Committee of the European Parliament, Jo Leinen (MEP). Our President Ludwig Soukup introduced EMO and the European mortar industry to Mr. Leinen. Mr. Soukup expressed one of the major concerns of the mortar industry which is about the rising diversity of eco labelling and that EMO definitely prefers one single place for such declarations, for instance in relation with the CE-marking of factory made mortars according to the CPD.  In terms of good continuation of the dialogue with the EP, the EMO delegates announced a position paper dealing with all items of interest for the European mortar industry which will be presented directly to Mr. Leinen in due course. |
